Awful Plastic Surgery

Posted on October 16, 2003 Written by Diane

I love the Web. Today I found a blog devoted to awful plastic surgery of the stars, complete with incriminating photos.

I spent the first half of What Lies Beneath wondering why in the hell Zemeckis would give Michelle Pfeiffer’s plastic surgery such extreme close-ups. The changes documented in Pfeiffer’s looks are tragic.

Not half as tragic as Meg Ryan’s. Ouch.

Any aspiring actor, actress, or Olympic decathlete should be forced to see this site.

The Sarah Jessica Parker pics (for some reason under “good” plastic surgery) are amazing; I strongly disagree with the author. In the first photo (“Early 90s”) she looks like a normal human being. In the last (2003) she looks like a weird alien freak.

I’d always thought she looked like a weird alien freak naturally. I didn’t realize it was due to surgery.

A funny, albeit rather sexist, Flash animation in a similar vein is The Mystery of Britney Spears’ Breasts.

How come nobody mentions Maria Shriver’s plastic surgery on her mouth and jaw. Look at her old pix. Her mouth is more smashed in. Now, it is jutting out.

What did Mary Hart of Entertainment Tonight do to make her face half the size it used to be. She had a long face before, and now she looks like a chipmonk.

Ann-Margret got a WHOLE NEW FACE some time back. She came by that one honestly. She fell off the stage (a platform collapsed) in 1972 and had to have her whole face reconstructed. Of course, she’s probably had work done since then, but I give her a pass.

sarah jessica’s eyes look weird lately, somewhat smaller and pig-like… i guess she might have had a facelift. look at her pictures from 2003 and compare them to the latest ones.

I don’t think Sarah Jessica Parker had any other plastic surgery aside form her alleged nose-job. She just had a baby, that alone will alter anyone’s biological make-up. Once a woman has a child, she surrenders a great amount of essential minerals, vitamins and enzymes in the act of creating another human being. No one can maintain a pre-baby look without plastic surgery. A baby will change you and your body forever. The effect is irriversable.

In watching Sex and the City over the years, it seemed to me and my spouse that Sarah Jessica Parker must have had some Botox injections or other surgery to smooth or plump up the lines of her face. And after watching the lines disappear from her face, I began to notice one of the other Sex and the City actresses looking unlined–unable to form certain frowning or wrinkling expressions. I don’t think the women looked bad after these changes, though.

To Susan on August of 2004: No one did Raquel Welch’s face. She hasn’t had anything done. No one has done anything to Susan sarandon’s face, either. Attribute it to good genes, dear. Also, Ann-Margaret had a tragic fall off of scaffolding in 1971. While performing at Lake Tahoe, Nevada, she fell 22 feet from the stage and suffered injuries including a broken left arm, cheekbone and jawbone. Unable to work for ten weeks, she ultimately returned to the stage almost back to normal. Her husband, Roger Smith, flew a stolen plane from Burbank to Lake Tahoe and back to get his wife to surgeons at UCLA to repair her injuries.

So, no plastic surgery for these gals. Sorry to disappoint you.

If anyone thinks anyone in Hollywood hasn’t had work done, you are very naive. The best work is very small touches over time, like Streep and Sarandon. Its very good work and has allowed them to still age a little, very slowly. Even women with “good genes” will eventually succumb to gravity, which will attack no matter how beautiful their skin is. Its this force of constant, heavy gravity, 24/7 which pulls everything down, on any creature with flesh. Nobody escapes. Facial exercises will tone up the muscles of the face if done properly – its true but the surgeons don’t want women to know this. Take a look at Carole Maggio’s Facercise website. Also, Senta Maria Grunge. This, ladies, is the way to age beautifully. Takes a little time but if you want to stay beautiful – surgery ages you if overdone.

About a lot of women get irreversable effects on their body – personally i am more fit, slim and ripped than ever before. Guess I am blessed (and I eat a lot of pizza 2)

I’m going to assume you’re also under 30 — believe me when I (and many other women) tell you that that “I eat anything and working out takes care of all of it!” doesn’t last forever. Get in the habit now of eating sensibly and keeping to an exercise regime — it won’t get easier.

People have different metabolisms and they’re trying to achieve different ends: someone whose job depends on their looking one way (ie, every actress in Hollywood) have very different career needs than do regular people.
