at least it's better than the jury duty thing.

The quote of the day:
Frightened man: "What do you want?"
Mr. Chapel: "What I want is to go back in time and stop John from meeting Yoko. What I need is..."

-- from Vengeance Unlimited, whose only saving grace is Michael Madsen as Mr. Chapel.

So, I'll never know if I'd have been excused from the jury or not.

We all reported in at 11 this morning and, as usual, sat around until the bailiff came out and said, "Everything's settled. Report to the Jury Room." So we all trooped into the Jury Room, at which point Beatrice the Jury Clerk told us to go back to the courtroom. We waited for the bailiff to come out to take us in, at which point the Judge said, "Thanks," and "Go back to the Jury Room." So we went back to the Jury Room at 11:30, and Beatrice told us to report back at 2pm.

I came back home and got about 90 minutes of writing-type things done. (Pats self on back.)

Reported back, and after 40 minutes Beatrice told us that we wouldn't be needed today and we should call in after 11:30 on Monday.

I feel like a yo-yo.

We have to be available for 10 days, or until a jury we're on reaches a verdict.

Greg came down to visit for the weekend. I could look at this as my consolation prize for having to bag on the Half-marathon on Sunday. Or I could look at it as a visit from a friend. Whatever.

Darin had to drive to the airport to get him. I found myself totally wasted after the day at the courts. I don't know what it is, but I'm suffering from the total and complete exhaustion that I thought I'd conquered a while back. And no, I don't think it's a little Darin causing it.
