Hard to defend that except to claim genetics, heredity and predisposition. It doesn’t mean we haven’t evolved … it means maybe we’re trying so hard to.

I guess my point is, it’s like saying all peahens are ugly sluts and all male peacocks are hunks based on plumage. They’re that way for a reason and alway has been (not that anyone is being derogatory about a bunch of slutty peahens running around Sunset Blvd. every night…).

As for derogatory male words, ‘pussy’ still works. It means soft and weak like a kitten, not part of a female anatomy. “Tool” is another good one — meaning a complete and utter dick. ‘Fuck up,’ any word begining with ‘ass-’ (-wipe, -hole, -hat), Words like that still hurt, mano-a-mano, as do the more stardard ‘queer,’ ‘pansy’ and ‘dickless.’

Not that I disagree with you at all, but there’s a whole world of macho bullshit most women don’t hear or regard. Or use. Perhaps it’s genetic, but we mouthbreathers tend to bluster and shoot from the cuff, while the fairer sex tend to be … well, fairer.

There have always been sexual over- and undertones to language; I don’t know why women act like they just discovered some secret society of misogynists. Cavemen and women probably used ‘bonking’ in the same contest but with different tools….

As for whore and slut, the joke is: A whore wil sleep with anyone, a slut will sleep with anyone but ME. It’s woman-based, yes, but derogatory to the extent it applies to the man. Carly Simon wrote a whole song about men like that.
